City Street Issue Reporting Tool Question

In regards to the City Street Issue Reporting Tool
I noticed that the web applet is a form that allows you to enter a issue with the city. Are there any API's that exist to allow a programmer to enter a issue programmatically?

Erik - Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately we do not have an API setup to receive reports from apps automatically for the City Street Issue Reporting Tool.

However, our streets division has provided an email address where apps can email reports on any of the items listed on our streets division service request page (http://apps.sandiego.gov/streetdiv/sreq_t1.jsp):

    Street_service@sandiego.gov

If possible we request that developers include in the emails all the info in the service request form plus a photo with geo-tag.

From the City's point of view, it would be preferable if developers can make a script to fill out the form and submit it, rather than generating an email, as this cuts out a step on our side. The form connects directly with our system, whereas emails need to be entered manually by street division staff.

Also, if you have a way of avoiding or managing duplicate reports, that would be preferable as well.

    Ok. thanks.

Do you have any plans in the near future for developing an API to receive reports automatically?

    No we do not.
